FTL & LTL Transport Services for importers and exporters
Gab-Trans organises FTL and LTL transport for companies importing and exporting goods on domestic and international routes. Import & export
Two directions — one transport operation
Transport for importers
We support importers in organising the transport of goods from foreign suppliers to Poland or other specified locations. We handle the movement of components, raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished products and commercial merchandise.
For importers, the key priorities are: collection time at the supplier, vehicle availability, accurate loading details, documentation requirements, pre-notification, delivery time and operational contact during execution. Before confirming the shipment we therefore agree collection conditions, warehouse opening hours, supplier requirements, contact details and the documents needed to carry out the transport.
Transport for exporters
We organise transport for exporters dispatching goods to foreign consignees, warehouses, distribution centres, trading partners, terminals or production facilities. We handle both one-off export shipments and recurring deliveries to the same consignees.
For exporters, on-time delivery, compliance with the consignee's requirements, correct documentation, contact at the unloading point and smooth delivery confirmation are paramount. For regular shipments we can establish a standing cooperation model covering routes, schedule, status reporting, documents and billing terms.
FTL or LTL?
Transport model matched to your volume
FTL for import and export
We recommend FTL for full loads, larger consignments, recurring lanes, exports to a single consignee or imports from a single supplier. This model works best where a limited number of handling points, a predictable route and smooth end-to-end coordination are priorities.
FTL is the right choice when:
- full trailer loads of import or export goods
- deliveries to warehouses and distribution centres
- transport of components and raw materials
- shipments of finished products
- recurring lanes
- transport to a single consignee
- shipments where minimising transhipments matters
- orders with defined loading and unloading time windows
LTL for import and export
LTL is the right solution when the cargo does not fill an entire trailer but still requires organised transport between supplier and consignee. It suits importers and exporters sending smaller batches, stock replenishments, components, pilot loads or orders with variable volume.
LTL may be the better option when:
- smaller import consignments
- export shipments to multiple consignees
- replenishment deliveries
- commercial goods with variable volume
- pilot or sample loads
- irregular orders
- a full trailer is not cost-justified
The choice between FTL and LTL depends on volume, timeline, route, consignee requirements, cost and the nature of the cargo.
Scope of service
What do we provide for importers and exporters?
Within our transport services for importers and exporters we provide:
Non-standard requirements
If the order involves non-standard requirements — such as ADR, temperature control, oversize cargo, additional loading, customs clearance, specific documents, terminal delivery or consignee requirements — we confirm feasibility individually based on the route, cargo and operational availability.
Benefits
Benefits for importers and exporters
More efficient delivery coordination
Import and export transport requires synchronising multiple parties: supplier, consignee, warehouse, carrier, procurement, sales and logistics. We help bring order to the process by clearly agreeing routes, timelines, documents, contacts and operational requirements before execution begins.
Transport model matched to actual volume
An importer or exporter does not always need a full trailer. That is why we offer both FTL and LTL, so transport can be matched to the real volume, delivery deadline and cost.
Reduced risk at loading and unloading
Before each shipment we confirm loading and unloading location details, opening hours, pre-notifications, warehouse requirements, loading method, trailer type, documents and contact persons. This helps minimise the risk of delays, communication errors and discrepancies at collection or delivery.
Support for regular trading relationships
For companies that import from the same suppliers or export to the same consignees, we can establish a repeatable service model covering routes, schedule, communication rules, documents, status reporting and billing terms.
Better cost control
Transport cost depends on route, distance, countries involved, timeline, vehicle availability, trailer type, road tolls, time windows and the potential to plan a return load. On recurring lanes, costs can be analysed more systematically and transport planned further ahead.
Direct operational contact
In import and export, fast information exchange matters. We establish a clear operational contact so the client always knows who to confirm order details, transport status, schedule changes, documents and supplier or consignee requirements with.

Pricing
What affects the transport price?
The FTL or LTL transport price for an importer or exporter depends on:
Quotes are prepared individually after analysing the specific route and order parameters.
Documentation
Documents and operational requirements
For import and export transport we agree the required documents and operational requirements before execution begins. Depending on the route and nature of the cargo, these may include CMR, proof of delivery, commercial documents, cargo specifications, documents required by the consignee, and — on certain routes — documents related to customs clearance.
We confirm the exact document set individually, as it depends on the country, goods type, delivery terms and the requirements of both shipper and consignee.
Standing service
Standing import and export service
For companies running regular import or export operations we can establish a standing cooperation model. This covers recurring routes, a schedule, contact rules, documents, status reporting, billing terms and procedures for order amendments.
A standing transport service is particularly valuable when a company:
- Regularly imports from the same suppliers
- Regularly exports to the same consignees
- Has predictable recurring volumes
- Needs a reliable, consistent transport process
- Wants to reduce the number of ad-hoc spot enquiries
- Expects a single communication model and document set
Long-term partnership
Regular volumes? Explore contract FTL service
For regular volumes it is possible to move to contract FTL service — with agreed lanes, haulage frequency and cooperation terms.
